Nigerian buzzing singer, songwriter, and performer, Daniel Benson, popularly known as Buju, has explained why he believes upcoming acts don’t need a record deal in the contemporary music world to become successful.

Buju stated in an interview with COOL FM’s ace on-air personality and hypeman D02dtun that the structure of the music industry has made it easier for upcoming/independent artists to thrive.

To support his point, he stated that in this day and age, if an upcoming artist produces a song and strives to acquire a million streams for that song, the act would earn a total of $7,500 on Apple Music.

However, you will earn $5,500 if a million streams are on Spotify. As a result, an independent musician with those kinds of streams is already generating money.
