Two human traffickers arrested at Lagos Airport


Two human traffickers were yesterday arrested at the cargo wing of the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos by officials of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons , NAPTIP, after they were identified by their victims of trafficking during the reception for the deported164 Nigerians who were stranded in Libya.

Receiving the Returnees, on behalf of the Coordinator, Lagos Territorial Office of the Agency, Alhaji Idris Muhammed, , Ibrahim Farinloye implored the Returnees to seize the fresh opportunity that they have in starting a positive and fruitful life within the abundant resources available in Nigeria.


The Returnees were brought back onboard chartered Al Burag Airline Boeing 737-800 flight number 89 with registration number 5A-DMG. From the cargo wing of Murtala Mohammed International Airport, they were taken to the NEMA centre for profiling.


Farinloye also said that the returnees consisted of 71 female adults, 17 female children and 6 female infants. There were also 55 male adults ,13 male children and 2 male infants.
