Twitter Blast Ben Affleck for blaming his alcohol addiction on ex-wife Jennifer Garner; actor clarifies

People on Twitter were not pleased with Affleck for bad mouthing mother of his kids in an interview and said that something was wrong with the actor.

The actor called the reports making the rounds on Twitter “clickbait”.

Hollywood star Ben Affleck, who rekindled his romance with Jennifer Lopez, blasted his ex-wife Jenner Garner at a recent interview where he blamed her for his alcohol addiction.

I’d probably still be drinking. It’s part of why I started drinking … because I was trapped,” the ‘Argo’ director admitted to feeling unhappy in his marriage to Garner, 49.

The actor had said that he didn’t leave because of his kids, and instead turned to alcohol and would drink a bottle of scotch and fall asleep on the couch.

“I was like ‘I can’t leave ’cause of my kids, but I’m not happy, what do I do?’ What I did was drink a bottle of scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution,” said.

Affleck, who has been in and out of rehab several times for alcohol addiction, including in 2001, 2017 and 2018, shares three children with Garner — Violet, 16, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, 9.

Affleck’s comments on his ex-wife, who he wed in 2005 and later separated with in 2015, didn’t go down well with Twitter. Netizens slammed the ‘Batman’ star for “throwing Garner under the bus.” Hours after his interview went online, people took to social media accounts to slam him.

Did Ben Affleck throw Jennifer Garner, the mother of his children, under the bus? Says he felt trapped in his marriage, blaming her for his drinking? And something like, his children’s well being is the most important thing. Has he learned nothing from all the stints in rehab?” One user wrote on Twitter.
