The topic of bride price is one that would continue to be on the front burner when issues of marriage is at the centre of discussions because of the outrageous demands from some families and tribes.
A Nigerian family has given what it termed a ‘short list’ to a prospective suitor intending to marry their daughter, however, as short as the list may seem, the items listed to be provided are weighty.
In a post on microblogging platform, Twitter, a photo of the bride price list shows that the family is demanding N2.1 million, 100 tubers of yam, 20 bags of onions, four gallons of red oil, three bags of rice and three bags of beans.
In addition, they are also asking for 30 packs of a particular soft drink with two different flavours.
The small but mighty list has already generated massive reactions from Nigerians on social media.
