Antonio Rudiger agent Saif Rubie has blasted Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta over Kepa Arrizabalaga revolt against Maurizio Sarri order during the clash against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup on Sunday.
Rubie questioned the leadership of Azpilicueta, accusing him of lack of leadership quality for not making his fellow Spanish countryman leave the pitch when he was told to do so by the head coach.
After slamming the Spanish defender, Rubie further emphasised that his client Rudiger deserves to be the captain of the club after Azpilicueta displayed some weakness in supporting the Sarri’s decision on the pitch.
“I’m a fan of Azpi [Azpilicueta] but as captain, he should never have allowed what happened with the GK [goalkeeper] refusing to come off to happen,” he tweeted.
“For me, he needs to have the captaincy taken off him, GK dropped for the foreseeable future and Rudiger to be made Chelsea captain as he’s a real leader.” Kepa was fined £190,000 by the club for his action, which was donated to Chelsea foundation
