Ridley Scott Defends Casting Al Pacino & Jared Leto in ‘House of Gucci’ Amid Gucci Family Statements

Ridley Scott has reacted to the criticism directed at his film House of Gucci by members of the Gucci family.

Specifically, Patrizia Gucci brought out the casting of Al Pacino as Aldo Gucci and Jared Leto as Paolo Gucci.

Ridley told Total Film, “The folks who were writing from the family to us at the outset were dangerously nasty, stating that Al Pacino did not physically represent Aldo Gucci in any shape or form.” “However, how could they be better represented than by Al Pacino, to be honest?” Please excuse me! You have some of the best actors in the world; you should be so f**king fortunate.”

“I believe a lot of it is funny,” Ridley remarked of Jared Leto’s involvement in the picture. For the first two acts, without a doubt. There isn’t much information about Jared Leto’s character Paolo, but there are images of Paolo, and that’s exactly what Paolo is.

The flamboyance of Paolo was quite nicely captured,” he added. “And how could that be offensive? We paid attention to not getting too overt if we can avoid it.”

Just this week, the Gucci family again came forward with a statement slamming the film.
