Elections 2019: We will not support any political party – Police assure Nigerians –
The Nigeria Police Force has promised to remain apolitical during and after the elections
The police has also warned those covering the elections to be with the identity card at all times to avoid getting mixed up with trouble makers
The police said adequate security arrangements is already in place to curtail any security challenge that may arise during the elections
The acting Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Mohammed Adamu, said the Nigeria Police Force would remain apolitical and not support any political party in upcoming general elections.
Adamu gave the assurance when a Joint International Election Observation Mission to Nigeria’s elections visited him on Friday in Abuja.
The mission comprised the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and International Republican Institute (IRI)
The police boss said that adequate arrangements had been put in place to curtail any security challenge that may arise during the elections
