De Gea drops massive hint that he is ready to commit long-term future to Man Utd

United recently triggered a one-year option on De Gea’s current deal, which now runs until summer 2020, but have been unable to agree an extension beyond that.

It had been reported in the last few days that the Spaniard was only ready to commit himself to the Old Trafford club if he was offered a deal to match top-earning Alexis Sanchez.

However, it seems that the upturn in the club’s fortunes under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has convinced De Gea that the club can match his ambition and he is ready to sign a deal worth around £375,000-per-week.

Talks are believed to be ongoing but a post on social media from Emilio Alvarez suggests a breakthrough may well have been reached. Alvarez, the club’s goalkeeper coach, uploaded a picture to Instagram on Thursday alongside De Gea and another friend with the caption:

“Friends, coffee time, excited future ahead.” The post was immediately spotted by eagled- eyed United fans who left comments underneath the picture begging the Spaniard to stay in Manchester.

De Gea later added to the intrigue when he commented on the photo with two top arrow emojis.,
