BREAKING: NDLEA Intercepts Counterfeit $4.7million Cash, Arrests Nursing Mother With Illegal Drugs

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced the arrest of a man trying to steal about N2.7 billion from the Nigerian economy by pushing into circulation fake $4.7 million cash.

NDLEA Spokesman, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

Babafemi said the principal suspect, 52-year-old Abdulmumini Maikasuwa was intercepted at the Abaji area of the Federal Capital Territory on Friday.

The statement read, “Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have foiled an attempt by a syndicate to steal at least N2.7 billion from the Nigerian economy by pushing into circulation fake $4.7 million cash.
