Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun Popularly known as Wizkid, Is a Nigerian songwriter and Musician. He started recording music at the age of 11, he was able to release a collaborative album with the glorious five a group that himself and a couple of church friends formed.

Wizkid sign a record label deal with Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) in 2009. He became popular after he released his song titled ‘Holla at your boy’ the first single from his debut Studio album, followed by  “Tease Me/Bad Guys”, “Dont Dull”, “Love My Baby”, “Pakurumo” and “Oluwa Lo Ni” all as singles from the album In February 2014.

The artist became the first Nigerian Musician to have over one million followers on Twitter.

His second studio album was released in September 2014. The album has six different single:  “Jaiye Jaiye”, “On Top Your Matter”, “One Question”, “Joy”, “Bombay” and “Show You the Money”.

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun Popularly know as Wizkid left the Empire Mates Entertainment (E.M.E) after his contract with the label expired.

In 2016, The artist gained international recognition after his collaboration with the Canadian rapper Drake, on the worldwide hit ONE DANCE that reached number one in 15 countries. He signed a multi-album deal with RCA Records in March 2017.

WIZKID released his third studio album on the 14th July 2017 titled ‘Sounds From The Other Side’. This was his first major label album primarily a Caribbean-influenced record.

The third album titled ‘Sounds From The Other Side’ was accompanied by five singles:  “Daddy Yo”, “Sweet Love”, “Come Closer “, “African Bad Gyal” and “Naughty Ride”.

His Fourth album titled ‘Made In Lagos‘ was released on the 29th of October 2020.

Wizkid Background

Wizkid was born on the 16th of July 1990 at Surulere in Lagos, Nigeria. The name of his mother is Jane Dolapo and his father, Alhaji Muniru Olatunji Balogun. He grew up with twelve siblings (Yes! Don’t be surprised). His father was an Islamic practitioner, and his mother a Christian.

Wizkid Educational background

The Superstar attend Ijebu Ode Grammar School, in Ogun State. He also attended Lagos State University (LASU), studied Sociology but dropped out in 2009 because of poor grade. He also enrolled at lead city university Ibadan, later dropped out after two sessions.

About His Personal Life

Wizkid has three male children with three different women. They were born 13 May 2011, 15 January 2016, and 28 October 2017 respectively.

Wizkid Business Deals/Endorsement

In 2012, Wizkid signed a one-year endorsement deal with Pepsi (A soft drink company) reportedly worth $350,000 U.S.On 28 May 2013.

Wizkid also signed a one-year deal with MTN Nigeria.

Wizkid signed an endorsement deal with Guinness for the Guinness World of More concert, held at the Eko Convention Centre of the Eko Hotel and suites on Victoria Island, Lagos.

Wizkid reportedly got N120 million from Glo on a two-year deal in June 2015.

Wizkid net worth is around $20 million. When it comes to property, the musician is said to own an N13 million mansion in Surulere, Lagos, and a home in Lekki, Lagos worth N68 million. He also has a house in the US located in Los Angeles
