Olamide Adedeji is a famous Nigerian vocalist musician and indigenous hip-jump rapper. He is prominently called ‘Olamide Baddo’, ‘Baddo Sneh’ or essentially ‘Olamide’. He established the YBNL Nation, an autonomous record name where a few top Nigerian Music Stars marked under its engraving. Olamide sings in his local language, Yoruba, and he is an honor winning Nigerian rapper.

About The Artist Background

Olamide was conceived on March 15, 1989 in Bariga, Lagos, Nigeria, and he has two different kin. Subsequent to finishing his essential and optional schooling in Lagos, he went on to Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State to contemplate Mass Communication.

Olamide took to his music vocation in 2000, in the wake of finding his ability in music. after 10 years, after the arrival of Eni Duro, he rose to fame. He delivered his first single ‘Eni Duro’ under the coded Tunes mark and was overseen by Toni Payne. Olamide later performed at the hip-bounce world honors function that very year.

Baddo Sneh started with ID Cabasa’s coded Tunes record label headed by Toni Payne where he did his first studio album. Then, left in 2012 to start his own record label.

In 2011, he released his debut studio album Rapsodi while signed to Coded Tunes. YBNL, his follow-up album, was released under his label imprint YBNL Nation. The album was supported by the singles “First of All”, “Voice of the Street”, “Stupid Love”, and “Ilefo Illuminati”.

Second studio Album (YBNL)

Olamide Badoo released his second studio album titled Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL), on November 12, 2012. The artist that made guest appearance in the album include Kay Switch, Kidakudz, Davido, Tiwa Savage and Buckwlya. The producers were Pheelz, Samklef, 2kris, Tyrone and ID Cabasa.

The album was supported by the singles “First of All”, “Voice of the Street”, “Stupid Love”, and “Ilefo Illuminati”. 

His second album “YBNL” received 2 awards from The Headies 2013 as the Best Rap Album and Album of the Year.

Olamide Third Studio Album (Baddest Guy Ever Liveth)

Baddest Guy Ever Liveth (abbreviated as BGEL) is the third studio album by Nigerian hip hop recording artist Olamide. It was on November 7, 2013, by YBNL Nation. Olamide recorded the album between 2012 and 2013 and enlisted Pheelz, Buckwyla, Ketchup, Ice Prince, Pepenazi, Endia, Viktoh, as guest artist. The album singles are Durosoke (2013), Turn Up (2013), Yemi, My Lover (2013), Eleda Mi o (2014).

Olamide Badoo became the first Nigerian to sign an endorsement deal with Cîroc.

Fourth Studio Album (Street OT)

Street OT, Olamide’s fourth studio album was released on Nov. 14, 2014 under his label, YBNL Nation. Street OT was a follow-up on his previous albums, as he decided to always produce an album every year. Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Pasuma, Don Jazzy, Reminisce and Phyno made guest appearances in the album. The album focuses on showing his love for the streets. It has two singles – Story for the gods (2014), Goons Mi (2014). Olamide was the Executive Producer, with Pheelz, B-Banks, and Young John as additional producers.

It is a combination of hip-hop, rap, and afrobeat. This time, the album was done with English, Yoruba and Igbo language. Out of three nominations for award in 2015, it won the album of the year in the Headies 2015.

Olamide Fifth Studio Album (Eyan Mayweather)

Eyan Mayweather is the fifth studio album by Nigerian rap artist Olamide, released on 23 November 2015. Released through YBNL Nation with studio production from Pheelz, Young John, B Banks and I.D. Cabasa, Eyan Mayweather is the follow up to 2 Kings, a collaborative album by Olamide and Phyno.

It has four singles: Bobo (2015), Matters Arising (2015), Lagos Boys (2015), and Melo Melo (2015).

Olamide And Phyno Collaborative Studio Album (2Kings)

2 Kings is a collaborative studio album by Nigerian rappers Olamide and Phyno. It was released through Cloud 9 and the iTunes Store with little announcement on 1 April 2015, by Penthauze Music and YBNL Nation. The album features collaborations with producers and guest artists such as Wizkid, Lil Kesh, Storm Rex, Pheelz, Major Bangz, B.Banks and Young John. Prior to recording the album, Olamide and Phyno frequently collaborated with each other on several songs, including “Ghost Mode” and “Dope Money”. The album produced the singles “Une” and “Confam Ni”, both of which were released in the months leading to the album’s release.

Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) Record Label

Yahoo Boy No Laptop (YBNL) Nation Label is an independent record label founded in 2012 by Olamide Adedeji. The name is a slang referring to young boy making money with no illegal dealings. Currently, it has signed many artistes: Lil Kesh, Chinko Ekun, Adekunle Gold, D J Enimoney, Picazo, Temmi Ovwasa and many more. While the likes of Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh have left, some are still under the label.

In 2016, it won the record label of the year in the City People Entertainment Award.

Olamide Personal Life

Olamide has been in a relationship with Adebunkunmi Aisha Suleiman long before he rose to stardom in the music industry. He proposed to her in March 2018 and they have a son Batifeori Maximilliano Adedeji born in 2015.
