It’s no longer new that YBNL boss, Olamide has laid off one of his signee, Lyta for some highly controversial and unclear reasons.
From information gathered from Olamide himself and Lyta, we can deduce that the boss probably sent Lyta out of YBNL because he has a new artiste that has the same recording pattern with Lyta which is Fireboy DML.
LYTA – TIME
Lyta came into limelight with his song tittled “Time” alongside Junior Boy, he got signed to YBNL due to the general acceptability of the song, then he did a refix featuring the YBNL boss, Olamide as his first official single at YBNL.
Many music critics was of the fact that Lyta’s “Time” was the pioneering song of other motivational songs that we had back then in 2018. Songs like Victor AD’s “Wetin We Gain“, Areezy’s “Ori” was few of the songs that “Time” fueled their inspiration.
FIREBOY – JEALOUS
Now we have the new guy on the block, Fireboytopping charts with his Mind-esque song titled “Jealous“. Fireboy was signed to YBNL earlier this year and he came out with his debut single that made one the tracks of the YBNL Mafia Albumreleased sometimes back.
Jealous is the new anthem of the whole music industry, the song keep breaking bounds on its own, cutting across continents and it feels like we’ve not seen a song from an upcoming act doing this great before. where has Mayorkun’s Eleko did further.
Though the promotional strategy sets aside by the YBNL camp for this song is enormous and very big, that it will sure blow even a wack song. Fireboy was the first YBNL act that will have his song advertise on the Lekki Toll Gate billboard.
The song was pitched on almost all African music playlist on Apple Music, Spotify and many more digital stores. All these promotions wasn’t made available for Lyta’s song “Time“, but then it grew organically on us all last year and we all vibe to it that year.
Perhaps, I’ll like to throw it out to us all, to get this case settled of whether Olamide made a huge mistake for letting Lyta go because he has Fireboy.
