Ben Bruce, Omokri slam Tinubu for
calling Obasanjo expired milk

Senator Ben Murray-Bruce and a former
presidential spokesperson, Reno Omokri, have
faulted the APC national leader, Bola Tinubu,
for calling former president, Olusegun
Obasanjo, an expired milk who should be
dumped in the dustbin.
Tinubu had at a rally in Lagos state on
Saturday, February 9, described Olusegun
Obasanjo as the expired milk who presided
over the flawed electoral process that
brought late president, Yar’Adua into
power.
However, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce and a
spokesperson to Goodluck Jonathan, Reno
Omokri, have condemned Bola Tinubu’s
statement.

Bruce said Obasanjo was an icon who had
a list of achievements including ending the
Nigerian civil war and being the first
military head of state to voluntarily hand
over to an elected President in Africa. He
said Obasanjo helped stabilise the
democracy Nigerians were enjoying now.
“President Olusegun Obasanjo is an icon. The
commander that ended the Nigerian Civil War. The
first military head of state to voluntarily hand over
to an elected President in Africa. The man that
helped stabilise the democracy we are now enjoying.
It is rather unfortunate that the beneficiaries now
insult him!” The senator said.

Omokri in his reaction faulted Tinubu for
his comments on the former president,
noting that Obasanjo had done more for
Nigeria than Tinubu and Buhari combined.
“ Obasanjo is expired milk, dump him in the
dustbin”-Bola Tinubu at the APC rally in Lagos. Bola,
you are insulting a man who has done more for
Nigeria than you and Buhari combined. Has Buhari,
who you are insulting Obasanjo for, insulted any
Northerner? Buhari won’t insult a Northerner
because of a Tinubu. Yet, you insult Obj, your
brother. Afonja did it before you, hoping that Alimi
will make him king. Where did he end up? I
prophesy that you will NEVER achieve what
Obasanjo has achieved,” Omokri said.
But other commentators expressed various
views on the issue. While some supported
Tinubu’s position, others faulted him for
attacking Obasanjo.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) has suspended its presidential mega
rally, earlier scheduled for Saturday,
February 9 in Abuja.
In a statement issued by the director,
media and publicity, PDP presidential
campaign organisation, Kola Ologbondiyan
on Saturday, February 9, in Abuja, PDP
said the decision followed the refusal to
grant the party venue of the rally.
Ologbondiyan said that the party had
earlier scheduled its Lagos Mega Rally for
the Tafawa Balewa Square on Saturday,
before the All Progressives Congress (APC)
came up with the same date “forcing PDP
campaign to opt for Abuja.
